The students in both grade two and three have been busy exploring various concepts in science. The grade two students had to build a vehicle using wheels and axles. They then tested if their vehicle could go down an inclined plane without crashing or breaking apart. The grade three students, after learning about strong structures and trusses had the chance to build bridges and test what weight they could withstand without bending or breaking. All bridges were successful at holding weights between 1000 and 2000 grams. Some students brougth weight scales home to further test the strength of their bridge. The grade three students also gave a try at building card houses. They had a little trouble meeting with success with this task - but eventually figured out that the triangle was a good base for their card houses. Enjoy the gallery of picutures! A big thank you to Mrs. Leduc for managing the glue guns and assisting the grade 3's with their bridges!
